The UK Cadet Class is delighted to announce that youcantalk.net is sponsoring the 2022 Cadet UK Nationals and European Championships.
David Little, UK Cadet Class committee member, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with youcantalk.net for this event. We have seen the benefits that sailing brings to young people – independence, responsibility, competition, and resilience.
From beginner to aspiring Olympian, the Cadet is the world’s most successful two-person race training dinghy, specifically tailored towards children and young people. Originally designed by legendary British designer Jack Holt in 1947, there are now more than 10,000 Cadets sailed in over 40 countries. Cadet sailors have represented the UK at the Olympics and America’s Cup, and achieve success worldwide.
The Cadet UK National Championship runs from Saturday, July 23 to Friday, July 29, and the European Championships from Saturday, July 30 to Friday, August 6. Both events are hosted by the Royal Torbay Yacht Club.
The Cadet is still the only World Sailing International Class dedicated to double handed sailing for the age group of 6-17 year olds. A successful technical racing training class by all accounts, since 1947.
