A special sailing regatta will be hosted by the Royal Yacht Squadron (RYS) in celebration of Mountbatten’s 45th anniversary.
The club will stage a day of J/70 fleet racing on Wednesday 7th September, followed by a social event in the RYS castle grounds, which will be open to all.
RYS Commodore James Holman said,
“Mountbatten is well known throughout the Isle of Wight for the quality of its care, and there are many people on the Island who know, or know of, someone who has been cared for by them.
“The RYS greatly admires and respects the work of Mountbatten and we are very pleased indeed to be hosting this very special event. We hope it will be strongly supported.”
Local sailing clubs have been invited to enter a team into the regatta and tickets are on sale for the social event, which comprises live music, a barbecue, and the chance to watch some of the racing.
The event starts at 1pm and runs until around 5pm.
