Frensham Frenzy 2023 to be held on 11th March

Our annual Frenzy is taking place on Saturday 11th March. Open to all monohulls under 16ft with a PY between 1145 and 940. Format is simple, 2 pursuit races with the first start not before 1020. Lunch in-between and finishes with the famous Frensham tea.

As a club we are used to pursuit races which have been a success as 40 boats on a start line was a bit dicey. The other great benefit is the Cadets and Teras can join in one big game of cat and mouse. The Frenzy is one everyone wants to win and it is a bit of a beast of a trophy. The event is for everyone and whist the clubs World, National and European Champions turn out it is an event for everyone whatever the standard. I love the event, seeing the club packed and the water busy.

Frensham is one small pond and is known as one of the most frustrating places to sail, but this can also lead to some great comebacks. Knowing which shift and pressure is coming in next is a skill. In the breeze are those shifts that will get you wet and in the light, that shift will see the fleet sail by.

It's a great way to start the season. Details on how to enter will be released soon. Come and see us at the dinghy show on K14 to get more details and possibly some inside tips.

We are looking forward to the dinghy show, the Frenzy, Cadet open, Tera training all in the next few weeks. We also have the Hemsley Superprix which marks the end of the winter season on the 26th March. On the Saturday before we are celebrating Tim Hemsley who left us too early in life. If you would like to come and join in please see me for more details.

The water may be small in size but the club is big at heart and whether you are just learning to sail or off to win a Nationals there is something for everyone.
