ISLANDERS WITH DISABILITIES ENCOURAGED TO GET INVOLVED IN SAILING

People living with disabilities on the Isle of Wight are being encouraged to get involved in sailing and boating.

The registered charity Cowes Sailability Club offers a range of accessible water-based activities suitable for people with limited mobility, low vision and other challenging physical and mental conditions.

Sailing recommences on 24th April and new members are always welcome.

Roger Sutton, Cowes Sailability Club’s Commodore, has said:

“People with disabilities shouldn’t miss out on fun this summer,

“We offer weekly sailing activities on Monday afternoons, as well as other wheelchair-accessible boating trips throughout the season. Friendly volunteers are on hand to offer help if needed, and everyone has a great time, meeting new friends, learning new skills and enjoying being outside in the fresh air.”
