Wednesday Junior Sailing (WJS) is an RYA Onboard Centre that takes place at Royal Lymington Yacht Club on Wednesday afternoons between April and September. It is run by passionate volunteers, who give up their time to help encourage the next generation of water users. We are in the unique position of being able to run child-led sessions to learn sailing, racing, rowing and powerboating.
WJS is open to local young people between the ages of 8 and 18. You do not need to be a member of the Club to attend. In our nurturing environment sailors work at their own pace following our card scheme which in turn leads to RYA qualifications.
There are two 2-hour sessions from 26th April to mid-September (weather permitting): 14:00-16:00 and 16:00-18:00. Children are expected to stay for the full 2-hour session.
Each session cost just £1, and your time.
We understand that your time is precious, and realistically not every parent/guardian can be here all the time, but without the help of volunteers, WJS would not run. So we ask all parents/guardians to give some time, whatever your skillset.
