On Saturday afternoon, six redwings and two one designs assembled at the starting line, east of St Helens Fort.
Charles Perry and Jos Coad found themselves neck and neck at the windward mark, but it was the former who managed to peel away and win by a couple of minutes.
In the second race, Coad narrowly led at Under Tyne, but Perry clawed back on the next beat to win the shortened race by just a couple of lengths.
The Redwings, meanwhile, were treated to a slightly longer course.
On Sunday, both races had to be abandoned when one of the crew members aboard Gannet went overboard.
Robertson in Red Gauntlet II had been leading when a call for assistance came in.
With the committee boat enroute at speed, all the other redwings and one designs diverted to help with the search.
It was not long before he was located and recovered by a boatman who took him back to the club.
With racing abandoned, all the participants returned safely to the harbor.
