Near perfect conditions for Tenby sailing

The evening race on Tuesday, May 23 attracted eight boats in near perfect conditions for dinghy racing. Robin Wood notched up another win on his International Canoe, with Steve Stubbs crewed by his daughter Jasmine in their RS 400 1186, in second place, and Dan Jackson with Marc Shepherd sailing Osprey 1276, ‘Jennifer’, in third; 4th was Osprey 1334, Jaime Bohata and Tim Griffiths; 5th, Laser 6, Ben Roberts; 6th, Laser 7, Peter Raimbault; and two Ospreys retired.

Saturday’s two races managed to attract six entries despite the Bank Holiday crowds in the town.

Dan Jackson with daughter Ruby set the courses to give the crews a splendid afternoon on the water. Several helmsmen changed ‘horses’, Robin Wood gaining 1st and 4th places in an Osprey; John Nuttall with a 2nd and a 1st place in RS 2000 22171; and Ted Lewis with Lucas Boissevain sailing Osprey ‘Best Chance’ with a 3rd and 2nd; Amelia Nuttall had a 5th and 3rd; Peter Raimbault, and Igor and Marek Otahal filled the remaining places.

Following the races five crews made haste to Saundersfoot to take part in Coppet Week. Good Luck Robin, Dan, Ted, Dave, and Steve.
