Five Cruisers competed in last Saturday’s race in a good SSW breeze which enabled them to sail to Giltar, then North Highcliff and back.
Winning yacht was Slipstream, sailed by Blake Shaw; 2nd, Seren, Phil Rees; 3rd, Aries, Sago Lewis; 4th, Heather, Denny Young; 5th, Cocoa, Frank Miller. This was Frank’s first race since retiring from his Chocolate making business on Caldey. Race officer was Billy Stubbs.
The Cruisers will be re-running the Annual Round Caldey race at 9.30 am on July 8, following last week’s disappointment with lack of wind.
Dinghy Racing results were as follows: June 20 - 1st, Robin Wood; 2nd, Dan Jackson; 3rd, Peter Rose; 4th, Steve Stubbs; 5th, Lucas Boissevain; 6th, David Plester; 7th, Dyfan Williams; 8th, Peter Raimbault.
June 24th - (Race 1): 1st, Robin Wood; 2nd, Dave Griffiths; 3rd, Dan Jackson; 4th, Mike Stace. . Race 2; 1st, Dan Jackson; 2nd, Robin Wood; 3rd, Dave Griffiths; 4th, Mike Stace.
