The 46th Sonata Class, National Championship came to a close at Parkstone YC, attracting 18 boats from all over the UK with teams descending on Poole Harbour from as far afield as Scotland, Blackpool, North Wales and Newcastle with more local boats traveling under their own keels from the Solent, Christchurch and Weymouth.
Tight One Design racing saw boats across the fleet mixing it up in the top ten across the four days of racing.
Final results after 11 Races
1st 8199- Frankie the Rhino (Tony Woods) – 21 points
2nd 8053 – Duette (Joe Cross) – 21 points
3rd 8426 – Joey (Will Smyth) – 36 points
4th 8032 – Minim (Mark Angell) – 37 points
5th 8028 – Aquila (Nick Holt) – 37 Points
Congratulations to Frankie the Rhino sailed by Tim Woods, Jim Hunt, Keith Byers and Lisa Woods in 1st place.
