Wimbleball Sailing Club is offering week-long sailing courses for children during the school summer holidays. The courses, known as the Wimbleball Osprey training courses, are open to children aged eight to 18.
They will run during the May and July/August holidays.
The five-day courses follow the Royal Yachting Association's stages and are run by fully trained instructors who manage small groups tailored to each child's ability.
No prior sailing experience is required, as the children will receive both practical and theory instruction to build their confidence and sailing skills.
Parents are required to drop their children off with suitable clothing, such as wetsuits and a packed lunch and pick them up later in the day.
A spokesperson for Wimbleball Sailing Club said: "Every year we run what we call the Osprey Training Courses for eight to 18 year olds during the spring and summer school holidays to either teach them to sail from scratch or improve their sailing skills.
"Many parents have taken advantage of the week long training course where they just drop the kids off in the morning and pick them up later in the afternoon and we’ll look after them in the meantime."
Booking for these courses is now available.
