Organisers have formally announced details of the 2025 combined regatta initiative for teams from Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, England and Ireland.
Following an inaugural meeting last December, four 2025 regattas in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland and Wales have combined to develop the Irish Sea Nation’s Cup, fostering goodwill and encouraging regatta participation by visiting yachts.
A draft Notice of Race is downloadable here, and organisers have also explained how the well-received Cup initiative will work.
The regattas are:
May 2-4 IRC Welsh Championships
May 23-26 Scottish Series
July 10-13 Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta
July 19-20 Northern Ireland IRC Championship
After all four regattas, the winning nation will be awarded the Irish Sea Nation’s Cup.
Each nation will be ranked in order depending on the performance of the best keelboat of that nation at the regatta. Bonus points will be awarded to the Nation with the best percentage of visiting boats.
Organiser says all sailors can expect a warm welcome at every regatta, with an opportunity to represent their country and compete for the prize for the best national performance.
