Traditional boats from far and wide, will dock in the historic Portsoy Harbour for the 32nd Glenglassaugh Scottish Traditional Boat Festival. This spectacular event celebrates the north-east’s seafaring past with a range of delights for all the senses from boats, music and crafts to food for all the family.
Around 16,000 visitors are expected to attend over the two days, to see the finest craft in the Scottish historic fishing fleet, alongside a medley of music and dance and a wide range of handmade items and gifts. The best of Scottish produce is on the menu in the food fayre, with fresh fish and seafood, homemade pies and locally produced whisky, gin and rum.
The festival music programme includes a host of performers, headlining the Big Gig on the Back Green on Friday 27 June is award-winning Scottish folk band, Mànran. Over the last 15 years the award-winning group have played in over 30 different countries including the USA, Asia and Australia, where they were presented with International Artist of the Year at the Australian Celtic Music Awards. The band’s latest single Standing Still, has featured on the BBC Radio 2 playlist for the last few weeks.
