MS Ireland and Oceans of Hope are seeking participants for a “try sailing” day off South Connemara on August 21st.
As Afloat has reported, the Irish branch of Oceans of Hope was initiated by Kerryman Stephen Fitzpatrick, who has sailed in Ireland and throughout Europe with Oceans of Hope UK.
Oceans of Hope UK was established by Robert Munns and Nicola Kaufman in 2016, and over the last 10 years, they have hosted many sailing events for people with MS around the world.
The Irish branch has been hosting a number of sailing events for the MS community this season, and south Connemara’s event is in Ros-a-Mhíl on August 21st. The volunteer team, including Shirley Foley, welcomes participants at one of two sessions in Ros-a-Mhíl – 2 pm to 5 pm or 6 pm to 9 pm.
Participants need to be able to go up steps with assistance to board the boat, and the cost per person is 20 euros.
