Tall ship berths in Greenock ahead of open doors day, Today 14th July

The Jubilee Sailing Trust charity are planning to have the magnificent vessel open its doors to locals on Friday to learn about the trust's work.

The wooden sailboat was built by the trust along with the STS Lord Nelson and embarked on its maiden voyage over two decades ago.

This tall ship was built so that both disabled and non-disabled people can sail as crew.

Features that cannot be found on other ships include wheelchair lifts throughout, unique ascender systems that allow wheelchair users to go aloft, a speaking compass for those with visual impairments, hearing loops, adjustable furniture for those with mobility difficulties, and a joystick to help individuals with dexterity limitations to steer the ship.

The ship will be open from 10am-noon and 1.30-5pm on Friday.
