Tenby Sailing Club News

Tenby Sailing Club has had a busy week, with results as follows...

Dinghy Racing results from Tuesday August 29: 1st INT Canoe 344 Robin Wood: 2nd RS Aero 7 1017 Dyfan Williams; 3rd Osprey 1328 David Plester & Paul Griffiths; 4th Comet 286 John McKellar, 5th ILCA 7 James May; 6th ILCA 6 Igor Otahal.

John McKellar had a change from his Osprey to give his Comet its first outing of the season with a pretty good result. Sadly Igor did not finish, hence 6th place.

Thanks to Alistair Lyndsey for setting the course.

Dave Griffiths and Maurice Clarke are doing well at Hayling Island in the National Osprey Championships (September 2 to 5). Race 1 11th. Race 2 19th, from an entry of 49 boats. Final result next week, good luck guys.

Training: This coming weekend, Junior trainees from Tenby and four other clubs can take part in the Welsh Dragon Series being held here. Saturday is a training day, run by two RYA coaches. Racing on Sunday will be run by TSC.

On October 7 and 8 the Welsh Yachting Association will be running courses here for Race Officers and for Mark Laying.

Cruiser Racing: The next race is on Saturday, September 16 around Caldey Island, weather permitting.

Following that, three more races on the 22nd, 23rd, and 26th, will conclude the season before the annual lift-out on October 2.

In the Clubhouse: Terry Evans will be testing your knowledge in his Commodore’s Quiz on Saturday, September 30 at 8 pm.
