RS Aero and Nero Winter Super Series Sees Butler and Doyle Dominate at Dun Laoghaire Harbour

11 races are already on the board in the INSS RS Aero and Nero winter Super series at Dun Laoghaire Harbour, with an extra five races sailed in a solid medium westerly on December 14th.

The extra breeze led to a few capsizes which were definitely felt with the cold morning. The smaller rigs in the Aero group were welcomed by some.

In the RS Aero group, in the morning, a mano a mano between National YC Noel Butler and Thomas Chaix was delivered. It was, however, Butler's turn to squeeze the pressure on Chaix with the great upwind speed in his 6 rigs and resist the superior speed downwind of the 7 rigs sailed by his nemesis. If Chaix could manage to stay ahead across the finish line, Butler scored a clean sheet of 5 race wins taking the lead overall in the series after times were adjusted. Globe trotter Roy Van Maanen (Greystone) sailing a 6 kept his opposition behind to score four 3rd positions out 5.

In the Neo group, Eamonn Doyle from the INSC scored yet another clean sheet of race wins. With 11 out of 11, he only leaves crumbs to his opposition. Patrick Bradley is a distant second, keeping Willem Harting a solid 7 points adrift.

The January Saturday morning is scheduled for the 11th.
