The international women's sailing event in Marina Greenwich closes with the UK's Royal Thames YC as the champions. The Germans from Hamburger Segel Club EV and the Spanish team from RCN Calpe 1 completing the podium after completing eleven races over the two days of competition.
The last race, race 11, saw victory for the representatives of the RCN of Madrid, with Elena Raga at the helm; the RCM del Abra - Real Sporting Club, led by InΓ©s Γlvarez, also racked up a second place in race 10.
The Royal Thames YC of London has taken the baton from the RCN of Calpe by winning the Greenwich Women's Cup trophy, in a second day in which there was only one race left to close the round robin, so the committee was forced to close the series before the 12th race, establishing the average of the results obtained between the teams that should have closed the round robin.
The London team, which today entered the competition together with the German Hamburger Segel Club EV and the Turkish Istanbul Sailing Club, has achieved four victories, three of them in a row. The team led by Ella Brown has shown its solidity and level in a complicated regatta area, with a wind that has been increasing in intensity and swell.
