🚤 Day 1: Chios Marina (Chios Town) → Lagada (NE Chios)
Sailing Distance: ~7 NM (1.5–2 hrs)
Highlights:-
Provision in Chios Town, visit the Chios Castle and local market.
Sail to Lagada, a picturesque fishing village.
Onshore:-
Dinner by the water in a local taverna.
Short hike to Agrelopos Hill for sunset views.
🏖 Day 2: Lagada → Oinousses Island
Sailing Distance: ~9 NM (2–3 hrs)
Highlights:-
Explore the lesser-known island of Oinousses, home to Greek shipping magnates.
Onshore:-
Visit the Maritime Museum and Monastery of Evangelismos.
Swim and snorkel at Bilali Beach.
Quiet anchorage or moor in the tiny harbor.
🏝 Day 3: Oinousses → Vroulidia Beach (South Chios)
Sailing Distance: ~25 NM (4–5 hrs)
Highlights:-
Long sail south, stopping for a swim at Komi Beach.
Onshore:-
Vroulidia is secluded and ideal for swimming.
BBQ on the beach or dine in Emporios, a nearby fishing village.
🏰 Day 4: Vroulidia → Mesta Port
Sailing Distance: ~5 NM (1–2 hrs)
Highlights:-
Anchor or moor near the port of Mesta.
Onshore:-
Visit the medieval village of Mesta, a UNESCO candidate.
Explore narrow alleys, taste masticha liqueur, and visit the church of Taxiarchis.
Dinner in a traditional village square.
🌿 Day 5: Mesta → Limenas Lithiou (West Coast)
Sailing Distance: ~12 NM (2–3 hrs)
Highlights:-
Sail to the west coast for more remote anchorages.
Onshore:-
Swim in Lithi Beach.
Try fresh seafood at a waterfront taverna.
Optional short taxi trip to Olympoi Cave.
🛶 Day 6: Lithi → Elinta Bay → Kardamyla (North Chios)
Sailing Distance: ~18 NM (4 hrs total with a stop)
Highlights:-
Morning stop at Elinta Bay for a swim in turquoise waters.
Afternoon sail to Kardamyla, a charming northern village.
Onshore:-
Visit the windmill ruins, or hike to Pyrgi viewpoint.
Sunset cocktails at Port of Marmaro.
⚓ Day 7: Kardamyla → Chios Marina
Sailing Distance: ~16 NM (3 hrs)
Highlights:
Leisurely return to Chios Town.
Onshore:-
Visit Nea Moni Monastery (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Last dinner in the town – try mastelo, local cheeses, and Chian wine.
⛵ Tips:-
Best season: May–October (ideal wind: Meltemi can pick up in July–August).
Most anchorages are sheltered, but check charts for rocks near Oinousses.
Rent a catamaran or monohull (skippered or bareboat).
Consider adding kayak/SUP for small beach exploration.
