Blackwater Sailing Club is hosting the event for visitors to find out more about the club and the exciting sports that take place there.
Visitors will be able to take to the water under the guidance of experienced sailors.
The club, at Maylandsea, offers a range of sports, including dinghy racing, yacht cruising, paddleboarding, kayaking, windsurfing and wing foilers.
There will be safety boat trips around the creek where seals are often spotted, a barbeque and refreshments, including a bar.
A club spokesman said: “The event is free of charge, no experience is necessary and there is no obligation to join the club – although there is a special offer of 18 months’ membership for the price of 12 months.
Equipment such as buoyancy aids will be supplied, though it is best to come along with some clothing that you don’t mind getting damp and a towel, and changing rooms with showers are available.”
The event is on Saturday, June 3, from 10am to 2.30pm.
