The Royal St George Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire will be hosting the fourth Squib Championship of the season over the weekend of 7-8 September.
Twenty-one entries have been received from Lough Derg YC, Royal North of Ireland YC, Killyleagh YC, Howth YC, and Kinsale YC, as well as the overseas entries from Holyhead SC and the local Dun Laoghaire Squibs.
This year, the dominant boat was Ian Travers and Keith O'Riordan in No.137 'Atomic'. However, at the National Championships in Howth, the top step of the winners' podium eluded them.
Local crews of Noel Colclough and Eddie McCarron in 'Periquin', Aidan O'Connell and Ben O'Donoghue in 'Ruby Blue' Vincent Delany and Joe O'Byrne in 'Femme Fatale' and Dave Stewart and Brian Hare represent the local Dublin Bay challenge for the east coast title.
Race Officer Barry O'Neill will lay exacting windward-leeward courses.
