Sailors and boats from all over the country joined the local fleet in Falmouth for a full race series.
This popular event coincided with the annual Falmouth Sailing Week regatta, turning this into a favourable holiday period for remote Shrimper sailors and allowing them additional time to cruise around the coastline.
The three-day event saw a variety of challenging wind conditions and course styles, courtesy of the Mylor Yacht Club race team.
After a hard-fought series of six races, the local boat Jackdaw, helmed by Stuart Sly, won the championship by a thin margin of just one point.
Mike Lyons from Oxford, on his boat Tarragon, came a close second.
Additional commendations went to Alan Mills who came first in the single-handed category, Hatti Smart was awarded the 1st Lady Helm and Clive Henderson took home The Windsport Trophy.
The endurance prize was won by Mike Everett.
The organisers also expressed deep appreciation to everyone who supported the event, including Mylor Yacht Harbour, Windsport, Coastland, Navionics, Teamac marine Paints, Mylor Yacht Club, and St Mawes Scent Company.
Looking ahead, the 2025 Shrimper Open Championships, already penned for August 29 to 31, is expecting an even greater turnout.
The event, known locally as the Shrimper Worlds, is a great mix of competitive on-water racing, evening socials and friendly conversation.
